Probably old men who have dementia and forgot they had trucks.

I drive past Keith Hawthorne Ford every morning on my way to work. They do business with the company I work for regularly. Want me to go check it out?

My Grandmother and Grandfather had 2 vehicles before he got dementia, a ‘99 Lumina LTZ and an ‘02 Silverado. Before my Grandmother got rid of the Lumina, the Silverado had 17k miles on it in 2014. She’s nearly doubled that now though.

In 2001 my dad bought a 1992 Chevy K2500 with 14k miles from the dealership he worked at for about $9k, with an 8' plow.

Thanks for the offer, but if I had that much to blow on a truck. It would be a new one :)

There’s an 05 Cummins 2500 with 13k. I hauled that down to them. Had to have been something that they towed with. Buy a diesel truck to tow with it every now and then.

Just buy a decent sized SUV and drive it all the time, and tow with it when you need too.

I wouldn’t necessarily be towing if I get a truck, it would mainly be used for offroad use, beater duty and hauling with the bed.

That Ram does look pretty good though!

$30k for a decade old gasser? LOL No. Not even with negative miles.

And $37k for an early LLY Duramax? No, I dont want to motor that’s known to overheat that bad. A late LLY/LBZ would be more reasonable.

That’s what I figured the truck I linked did all it’s life. Some people buy a truck specifically to tow with. Only use it for that, and it sits.

Others buy trucks to make them work, and others buy them for the need they have.

I’ve got 5 trucks in my work fleet, all they ever do is tow. The ones I bought new, have towed from the minute the gooseneck or 5th wheel was installed.

I had a Sierra 1500 that I made into a lowered track truck. I did a procharger on it’s motor. Well it started life as a v6, I swapped a V8 in and went that route with it.Then someone wanted it and bought it off me in a grocery store parking lot.

Now I’ve just got an Ecoboost Stang, and a Honda Fit. Kept my little Fit just because I plan to mod the Stang and needed something to drive when it’s getting stuff installed or sitting on jackstands in the garage. Just debating on whether to mod the stang now, or wait until the warranty is gone.

$28k for a 2wd and minimum options? Wow... At the 05-5.9L 07s all have the 325/610 motor.

This was just posted to add another low mileage older truck to the list.

As for the options, that’s whoever’s call that buys it. The area they’re in is full of 18-25 years old that want diesels to “roll coal” “tug” with. That’s all thats there around them. Is diesel trucks spitting black smoke, with some idiot that guns it when the light goes green to leave a big cloud of soot.

My trucks are all 100% factory OEM. My 3 of my 5 company trucks are 2wd with minimum options. But they are work trucks, so no one cares. One’s a 4x4 with minimum options, and the last is my personal work vehicle, it’s a 2wd with alot of options.

That’s the Tradesman package though on the new Ram Chassis cabs. Vinyl seating, AM/FM radio with Aux In, AC and an Aisin Auto. It’s basically what the 4 of 5 trucks are, at least that I own. Mine’s different, it’s a Laramie. I buy em, I own them, so I get the nice one.

Enjoy $20,000 of depreciation the first year. That’s worse than a new one....
